AMAL ONE / ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH

AmalLab ONE

Every sample has a story.
Keep the evidence connected.

Concept · In development

Sampling station

AmalLab ONE

A portable station designed to collect documented air samples and record the conditions behind each measurement.

  • Air sampling
  • Flow and operating logs
  • Local processing
01THE EVIDENCE WORKFLOW

Follow one sample.
See the whole chain.

Environmental readings, laboratory results and the response often sit in separate workflows. AmalLab ONE proposes a shared record that keeps their context together.

STEP 01

Give every sample a documented origin.

Record cartridge identity, location, time, sample volume and calibration. The aim is a sample record that remains interpretable throughout the investigation.

02THE INTELLIGENCE LAYER

AirGuardContext for every result.

The proposed platform brings measurement quality, site baselines and laboratory evidence into one review environment. Specialist judgement stays central.

Designed for environmental surveillance, with clear limits.

Proposed capabilities

01

Check measurement quality

Identify sensor drift, missing data and interrupted flow.

02

Recognise changes in context

Compare readings with each site’s own baseline.

03

Support specialist review

Combine environmental and laboratory evidence to prioritise review.

04

Make uncertainty visible

Show uncertainty and abstain when the evidence is weak.

The concept does not diagnose individuals, establish microbial viability from an environmental signal alone, or replace laboratory testing and specialist judgement. Models require comparison with simpler statistical methods and testing across independent sites and time periods.

03A FOCUSED START

Busy spaces.
A defined first use case.

The proposed starting point is a waiting area in a medical centre serving Umrah pilgrims, working with its infection prevention team and one laboratory partner.

Initial focus: healthcare facilities serving Hajj and Umrah pilgrims.
ILLUSTRATIVE USE SCENARIO

A signal prompts an investigation.

  1. 01

    Observe

A target indicator recurs in valid samples from a specific site.

  2. 02

    Verify

A specialist reviews the context and requests confirmatory tests.

  3. 03

    Respond

The responsible team considers ventilation, waiting-area management and maintenance.

  4. 04

    Measure value

Review turnaround time, alert burden and the usefulness of the investigation.

04PROPOSED DEVELOPMENT

Earn the next step.

An 18-month plan with a proceed-or-adjust decision at each stage. Timing is a proposal, subject to funding, partners and validation results.

  1. MONTHS0–2

    Define the use case

    Initial setting, rights and data.

  2. MONTHS3–5

    Build the prototype

    Sampling and platform development.

  3. MONTHS6–8

    Verify the method

    Laboratory verification, transport and classification.

  4. MONTHS9–12

    Run a limited pilot

Evaluate the workflow in the field.

  5. MONTHS13–18

    Prepare the next stage

    Pilot production and conditional expansion.

Validation priorities: sample recovery and stability, contamination control, AI value against a simple baseline, safe transport and chain of custody, and customer usefulness.

What could come after the first pilot?

Potential settings include hospital networks, accommodation and indoor event facilities. Later One Health pathways could cover veterinary, agricultural and aquatic environments. Each expansion depends on demonstrated value and suitable local partners. No event-organiser contracts or institutional partnerships are implied.
